Lewes District Council, Wealden District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council wish to strongly remind all sea users that the yellow safety buoys which are in place along the East Sussex coast during the summer months are there for a purpose. That purpose is to seperate swimmers from larger and fast moving watercraft.

The cost to repair damage to the buoys goes into thousands of pounds each year.

Therefore, please do not:-

Moor your vessel up the buoys, or
Use them as a course for speedboats or jet skis, or
Attempt to move their position.
