Experienced Consultants required for an EU funded Smart Energy Ports Project
Newhaven Port is seeking experienced consultants to undertake smart energy audits and studies for Channel ports.
Newhaven Port & Properties Ltd (NPP) is one of nine partners from the UK and France working together on a European Union Interreg IVa Channel Programme project called FLIP (Fostering Long Term Initiatives in Ports). The project aims to promote a sustainable cooperation between small & medium sized ports in the Channel area.
The partnership, led by the Conseil General de Seine Maritime (SMCC) based in Rouen, France, was awarded E.U Interreg funding in April 2013 for a 2 year programme of joint working between the FLIP Port partners.
NPP will be commissioning a specialist consultancy on behalf of the Port, the UK Port partners of Torbay and Whitstable and a French Port partner, Boulogne Sur Mer, to carry out smart & blue energy audits and studies in the respective ports to identify innovative solutions for port based energy efficient systems. The results of the proposed work will be of direct benefit not only to the FLIP partners but will also be disseminated more widely to organisations involved in managing Ports and Harbours, the maritime and associated industries across the Channel programme area.
Prospective consultancies will need to demonstrate:
- Evidence of previous experience of working on European projects involving ERDF funding from the European Union
- Experience of undertaking smart energy audits and drafting corresponding technical studies
- Evidence of fluency in French and English
- Examples of similar work undertaken previously with Ports and Harbours and offshore Windfarms as part of other European projects
- Evidence of understanding E.U Resource Efficiency policies.
